I think it you maybe add some source control repositories to your hosting packages. I need to put my source code on one place, that I can access from anywhere. I also saw that at others hosting companies. They probably offer SVN, CVS or WebDAV.

I don't see much need for it. I would not place all my development code at a single source. Develop on your desktop machine and only send the finished code to the server. Have your code in as many places as possible for backup.

Dan Then you probably never work in a team where source control is a base need and a life saver. And I think it is better to have all you source code in one place, because then you now what is made, is working. And for a backup of all your source control repository you probably have RAID on disks and regular backups every night.

I was replying to the specific request of adding source control to hosting packages. Let me clarify. I don't see much of a need for it on publicly hosted websites. Development should be offline or on local network server. Certainly source control should be used.

Personally i wouldn't use it. I develop locally and copy up like that, i look after the source code locally and spread backups of those across multiple locations. Alan

Then I am probably the only one who is using this server for testing and development environment. And I am also working from multiple locations. :?
